Opportunities: Empower students with tools to improve their learning experience
A common challenge for students when iterating entrepreneurial ideas is to perform efficient market research, draft documents to communicate the ideas, synthesize market research and notes. This was made clear in the MIT flagship course, Disciplined Entrepreneurship, where students have to go through 24 steps in a relatively short period of time to come up with a prototype.
- Perform Primary Market Research: Searching the web, reading articles, and reports, is very time-consuming. Synthesizing the information is even more difficult.
- Prepare Pitch Decks: Students often struggle to structure a pitch deck and fill out the sections. Getting feedback takes time and is not always available.
- Size the Market Opportunity: Market sizing can be complicated to execute and time-consuming. Checks have to be put in place to verify the accuracy of the results.
- Search Through The Knowledge: Students can quickly build a vast knowledge base of useful information which results in a lot of time to find the relevant information.
- Build the Business Model: Coming up with the different sections of a Business Plan, and having someone external reviewing it is difficult.
- Extract Insights from Interviews: Students talk with users to understand their pain points, but have to go through interviews or take manual notes to make sense of them.
Solution: Use Stack AI to build AI Assistants to power the 24 steps of MIT Disciplined Entrepreneurship course
MIT deployed a platform powered by Stack AI to help students navigate the course, improving the learning experience, student satisfaction and outcomes.
- Build a Knowledge Base: MTC team built a knowledge base with the course materials, entrepreneurial resources, videos, for the assistants to retrieve the relevant information from.
- Setup an AI Assistant for each step: The course follows 24 steps as part of the entrepreneurial journey that students have to achieve. 24 assistants were created, one for each step, helping students go through different deliverables.
- Deploy in MIT own user interface: MIT technical team used Stack AI API to deploy the assistants in their own user interface, so students could interact with them, as well as with the course materials.
Results: AI-powered platform to assist students in navigating MIT Disciplined Entrepreneurship course
The platform was heavily used by the students to navigate through the course Disciplined Entrepreneurship: 24 steps to entrepreneurship. Here are some of the key outcomes:
- Time to Production: The platform was operational in just 2 weeks, showcasing the efficiency and agility of the implementation process with Stack AI.
- Student Engagement: Over 250 students engaged with the platform, indicating a high level of interest and interaction with the course materials and the AI assistants.
- Hours Saved: With the AI platform, over 500 hours were saved, significantly reducing the workload and increasing efficiency in the learning process.
- Assistants Deployed: 24 AI assistants were deployed, offering personalized support and enhancing the overall learning experience for students.
